Another great day of racing at Chequemegon Fat Tire Festival. Jake defended his title nicely in the Short and Fat, taking the win over Tom Meyer and Luke Baker who rounded out the podium spots.
Start was controlled until the bridge where Jonell was standing, taking these pics. (photos from the big camera won't get downloaded until we get home) Jake was tucked in behind being patient. Jens, Grandma Judy and Grandpa Rodney along to take in the action.
Jake and Tom broke from the main group a few miles back that consisted of Luke Baker and Michael McBurney and a few others. I was up the hill a bit from Jonell, nervous as heck waiting for him to come. Jake made his move with a mile to go and hang on to take the win by six seconds. Jake said the race was harder this year, mostly due to the dust and exhaust being kicked up by the four wheelers and hard racing of course.
Crossing the line. It was awesome to be there to watch the finish.
Podium.
Maplelag team riders Trent Warner and Matt Wenzel having solid races today as well. Good job.
Going in as the favorite has a lot more pressure and nerves. Great job Jake. We are very proud of you.

Well done indeed. Way to rip!
SWEET! Congrats Jake! Way to pull it off!
Thanks for the comments. Missed seeing Bender roll across with fellow A212 members who were nicely at the front.
