First item of business each morning is cranking out Jonell a cap or machiatto.

Not sure how I got this to happen the other morning. Must of been the coffee Kyia gave me put out by the Mid Min Cycling Club.

Jonell's flowers are liking the open space and extra sunshine thanks to the two trees cut this summer. Warm temps and nice sunshine this month helping out as well.

Remember the first time you discovered what it was like to hear you echo, and everything you said to the other side of the lake, said back to you? Jack did this week.
Jack on water color action with the painting group here this week. Led by Judy Florell who does an awesome job bringing a lot of folks to Maplelag. Three times a year with a group of ladies around 20 in the late winter and full plate of activities.
We got our huge shipment of pumpkins, gourds, and goose squash this week from Virgie and Marlin Ziegler. Before I could take a picture of it all, Jonell had it displaced and decorated in fine form all throughout the lodge. All the rock moving training paid off.
Minnesota Forest Resource Council meeting on Thursday. My mom serves on the board. Did a tour with the group along with our local forester Dave Johnson who is pointing out some facts. Dave and I will be doing a new trail map for the Maplelag trails, using gps and some of his programing. You know you have some heavy hitters in the group when they talk about hanging out with Pawlenty. Good meeting and some interesting discussion for sure. Highlighting our #1 focus of providing great trails while implementing forest management of growth and seeding/planting of new trees which has been over 100,000 since the mid 70's.
