A pretty much awesome winter weekend. Only thing missing was a few more inches of snow so we could of pulled of the first high school training camp weekend but it is what it is and hopefully this week we get a shake of more white.

One of those pit bulls with lipstick taking Jens to practice early morning Saturday. Ha!

The lake froze over real nice, the surface is perfect for skating, and cold temps past few nights making good ice. Few inches of snow on top that is like feathers but easy to shovel and clear a nice surface. Jake winding up.
Jack basketball game at noon on Saturday. Jack scored his one basket again.
Back home for a afternoon ski with Jake. I have skied on this little snow before but the snow we have now is very dry with very little moisture. Suicide Hill was barely skiable for light traffic but skiable is the key and we did some hill repeats and Jake got his workout in.
Heading out there was definitely iffy and we had our share of face plants but all good training.
Saturday evening up to Bemidji for the only game on the weekend for Jon. Played probably the top northern PWA team in the state, from a MHD to Alex Sauk Centre Duluth line and everything north. Bemidji lost a heartbreaker to EGF earlier in the day, after taking out Roseau 10-0 the night before. Jon's team lost 6-2 and didn't play like they could but all part of the learning process.
Sunday pretty much spent all day on the lake. Flurries all day resulting in less than an inch of new snow but slightly improved the conditions for afternoon skiing. Picture above has our two foreign staff of the year, Andre and Pedro from Brasil who were on skates for the first time ever. Super nice guys. Should be a fun year. Hit it off great with the kids. Lots of laughs.
Pedro and Jonell watching the boys.

Jens and I taking on Jake and Jon.
Jon's team mate Carter, Jens, Jack in goal and Jon. Skating on the lake is a total treat as the window is small and couldn't have had a better weekend for it.

Cool to see Jack suiting up as the Tender!.. I Had 3 kids out skating yesterday on the pond in our back yard too. Need to update my blog... (sept?) Definatly a fun day to be outside with the flurries and all.... "Feathers" is a good way to put it as I played groomer shoveling skating trails for the kiddos.
