The big event this past weekend was Prom. Jake went with a friend from the Jr class.
Signing off with the bros, cousins and yoda dog. Thank God for shinny hockey on rainy days.
With mom and dad before rolling out. Didn't have a better pic of Jake with mom and dad. Sorry. The memory I wanted to leave Jake before he left was his Dad coming back in from a mud ride in the rain instead another lecture about drinking, and three letter words. I felt a lot muddier than I was and was given orders to keep my distance. Fine. For the record, the T coat is winnings from 11th place finish at Cheq 40 in 1990something. Would not purchase otherwise.
With the Grandmas at the march thing.
Jake and Libby.
Ramsay getting beefed up Friday night at IC before helping with security on Saturday post prom at Maplelag.
Jonell's new flower vase/candle holder with buckets of water and juice. The pre Prom drama was a bit much for the Richards family but everything turned out fine. Six couples were coming out here and I appreciated the parents that called to see what we had planned because we would do the same thing. There were some last minute rumors floating around that were not cool. A parent that I thought would of called, because of his involvement with the schools, did not and ended up not having his kid coming out. Whatever. Jonell and I stayed up all night to keep tabs on things. All good.
Nicely done. Love stuff like this, leaving messages in unique places.
Sunday afternoon the off and on rain continued like it had the four previous days but Jake and I still hit the trails for the perfect conditions. For being up most of the night, the skills were still working and traction was just fine as Jake cleaned the steep lakeside drop.
Even an impressive karate chop going up Suicide Hill.
This rock garden section is really the only place that kicks my butt know and then on the LL course. Two yeas ago I went down hard here and took half the season to feel comfortable again. Last week when riding with Matt, Steve, M Horner and Tony, I crashed on the rocks thanks to tires being filled with greasy mud and rocks wet and slippy from falling rain. I still prefer the middle line over the rocks since it is a straight shot down and going straight with speed and now brakes is key. But I got turned sideways again and luckily this time could bail up into the hill.
