Tomorrow is the science fair and Jack did his report on ticks. He even was able to get a few ticks off the dogs, (even though the prevention for pets is better than humans and we have applied frontline twice already this year) and put them in a ziplock bag for a good visual. Jonell dropped Jack off for hair cut on Monday and thought he would just get a trim but he told the barber to give him a buzz cut. Halfway through he tells JP, "wait, you better stop, my mom might not want that" Figured the buzz cut would be another good visual on how to easily identify for ticks if one does embed in the head.
Tuesday's weather was back and forth all day. Sunny and calm in the morning and then wind from the south with clouds. Than wind switched to be from the north, temp dropped, rain than calm and clear. Then big wind again, small storm with heavy rain then calm again. At that time I went out in the kayak to take some photos of the lodge and six loons were in the middle. When I stopped to shoot some photos the loons came closer and I just waited there and they started doing the loon dance thing. Don't think I have ever been that close to loons. Awesome moment.

Eleni is doing the science fair today too, See you there?
Best loon moment for me was up in the Quetico on a canoe trip mid May. We paddled through a group of what we thought were maybe 20 loons and once we got closer we could see them swimming under our canoe and everywhere popping up with in 2 feet of us. there were at least 40 or so it was crazy! Good stuff.
Sweet loon story. There were two that were behind me closer but odd angle to get a photo.
