Missed the first frost of the year during Cheq. weekend. Cooled down nicely over the weekend, however, frosting the roofs and low lying grassy areas. Just something about those frosty mornings. Gets you excited for winter and a reminder the white stuff will soon be flying. Last year I think we had 6-7 skiable days in October on three different snow events. Crazy. I don't think we will see that this month. Looking to be warmer and dry. That would be fine for trail work and like always, would be nice to see late November snow.

Wedding over the weekend. Guests from around the country. Like hearing the comments "coldest wedding I have ever been to" Had a nice bonfire going Friday night taking off the evening chill and most people never been around a fire like we crank up. Lots of deadfall to burn.

Monday afternoon Jonell and I went up to Thief River Falls to see nephew Marco run in cc meet. Always a nice drive this time of year in the nw part of the state.

New signage outside White Earth.
The droid has nice map features but rural it has history of fails. Put us on the east side with no parking lot and Red Lake river to cross via a bridge. Dead raccoon on outer edge. Didn't have to worry about traffic getting out. All good.
Marco is still finding his legs after being gone for almost two months in Philippines for missions trip over the summer. Coming on strong though end of season and will be peaking at the right time. Falls cc team only school to be waving a flag. Nicely done Broncos.
Lake of the Woods runner taking a nap after meet. Hope he woke up before the bus left.
Stopped at Dee's Diner on north side of town. Judging by the traffic, the place to go for home cooked meals. Get there before 7pm closing time. If you need a good fill of gravy before Thanksgiving, a stop is in order. Plenty to help put down the hot beef and real mashed potatoes proper and whatever else is left on the plate next to yours.

Jay, Dee's is my go-to place every time I'm in TRF, which is usually monthly.

Your food order is exactly the reason why.
