Jonell and I went out for a walk in the woods Thursday night, enjoying the near full moon lighting up the forest floor. Of course Carlos was along zipping all over the place. 10 minutes and no Carlos. I thought he caught our scent and maybe doubled back but soon enough he comes blasting by. Running in front of us he was dragging his mouth and I knew he got into some trouble.

He discovered a baby porcupine and probably had a couple hundred small quills inside and outside his mouth. He wasn't crying like some dogs have done in the past but obvious in a lot of discomfort. He was able to settle down and sleep so we waited til the morning to take him in. We would normally just take them out but pretty much impossible being inside his mouth. Poor guy.
Past weekend down in the cities again for hockey tourney and Jack had his Destination Imagination state competition (click her for DL article). Jack's team didn't qualify for the national competition but they had a fun day and did a great job. Saturday morning waking up to some beautiful snow. Staying at relatives which was nice. Checked out a local bike path that had some singletrack shooting off to the side. Followed it around this small lake that went parallel to a rolling power line. Not very long but a couple times back and forth just the right amount of fix to begin the day. Surface was perfect. Not muddy. There was more snow in Rosemount than northern suburbs.
Took Jens and nephews Grant and Garrett to a playground before one of the games. Didn't see anyone outside enjoying the beautiful day. Had to stay off this because I wasn't sure what the guidelines were. Thanks Val and Tj for having us and the hospitality. Very nice.
Last game was at the Bloomington Ice Gardens. They have some nice posters of different types of skate sharpening and all the state qualifying teams from years past. I wanted to take a picture of 1983 with Jon next to it because the hockey hair on each player was absolutely classic but we bolted out after the game.
Jens and Jack piano recital. Jonell covering bases on Sunday nicely. Well done Jonell.
Jake was able to ski over the weekend after 5" of new snow Friday night. Monday early afternoon still holding on to snow and out for another April ski. Not saying it is going to be the last because it looks like more coming!
