Great day of racing in Sun Valley. Pretty much textbook mountain weather with dry air, cool morning temps and afternoon warmth with a nice breeze.
Thanks to the MNMBS doing a great job sending results in a timely fashion to USA Cycling, Jake had a great call up being the fourth rider to the line out of the 51 riders. It was the largest field on the day. Off the line he had a good start settling in a nice position on the steep climb.
He was running around 10-12 spot and catching riders on the climb than had a rare crash on the third lap, losing a few spots and finishing a solid 16th place among mostly mountain state riders.
Cleaning the rock garden descent.
Congrats to Jack Hinkens on his impressive ride, taking second in the U23 race. Looked very smooth the entire race. Saturday are the Pro races than Sunday will wrap up the racing with Super D and short track.
