Transitions

Transition time from season to season. The weather hasn't made up it's mind yet if it wants to be warm and dry or wet and cold. However, we are leaning to a more cold and wet cycle which is welcomed after memories of a hot summer and dry early fall, remain. It has been one of the busier falls at the resort which has been great and no slowing down with kid activities, especially now since association hockey has started. Fortunate to enjoy the things I enjoy, even if short and sweet.

Jack had his last cross country meet in Park Rapids and greeted by the podium girls afterwards.

Charging up one of the last hills.
Rollerskiing is always a good thing to get prepped for the next season but the times rolling the little wheels has been once, when Jake was home the other weekend. Jake has been training specifically hard and look forward to the ski racing season.
We lost my dear auntie Nancy the other week. Funerals are not fun but a great service and a lot of good thoughts and memories shared. We savor the visit we had in August and visits with family and friends during the reception not seen in many years.
Not often you see dressed in such attire. Take a picture.
With Jens moving up to "Squirts" the time at the arena will be even more but it is all good. Should be fun seasons for both Jon and Jens. The first day we had ice, Jon joined Jens and the squirts for open hockey. Jon and Jens faced off at center ice...priceless moment! The city/hockey board etc. have done a great job enhancing the Kent Freeman arena and having been in quite a few arenas around the state, has to be at the top for uniqueness and preservation of original character.

Once again we snuck out for a quick duck hunt this past Sunday morning. The wind was absolutely wrong direction but thought would be more flying with "good" weather end of the week. Jonell's brother Uncle Ryan swung through with his two boys. Didn't even fire once but the sunrise was nice and always good to hunt with Ryan for commentary.

They were up at the lake cabin the days before for MEA and if anyone else has bagged 9 grouse in two outings, send me a picture because I don't think it happens often!

Sunday Steve Wenzel and Struchy were out for a late fall ride and able to hook up with them and finish out a lap. There just hasn't been time to build trail new like I wanted to this fall and now trail work priority is set on leaf removal from the ski trails for early snow and skiing.

Always good when rolling with Steve. He was mashing through the woods with the "fat bike" which is a nice option to mix things up. Keep the wheels moving!!
