A flock of trumpeter swans flying above tree line while sitting in the deer stand today. It was pretty awesome as they were noisy as heck. I was sitting in a tree stand that is sandwiched between two lakes so lots of waterfowl activity which was fun to watch since I didn't see any deer. After a super busy week, it was nice to sit out in the woods and do nothing basically. Tuesday I shoveled gravel and hauled rocks up a 20 ft ladder all day (good cross training I look at it as) and we had 5 other projects going on this week. As usual, I rode my bike out to the deer stand. Probably not many people in MN doing that. When we lived out in Montana, I know there were other hunters doing that. In fact, one of the bike shops they had a special mounting kit for the bike to hold a gun. When I elk hunted, I was up high enough that I would usually ski up into the bowls and saddles. Anyways, tomorrow I will head back out then we will do some drives in the afternoon. I will take Jake with me when we do that.  Posted by Picasa
