Friday morning after 7" of new snow and my skis await. 12" of new snow during the week made for a busy week for sure. Its all good. Rather have it this way then brown grass and Jen's tonka filled with dirt or something.
We had a wedding this past weekend with good handful of skiers making for a jam packed weekend. Saturday morning up at 4am to groom. Groomed 5 hours, usual lodge stuff, Jon to hockey, Jonell doing wedding stuff so I was on Jens patrol etc. Got to the afternoon and time to start pan frying walleye for 190 people. It went very well and I got it down for frying for that many people. Hot and consistent grill is key. Jonell did an amazing job once again with the wedding. She has a gift for that for sure. She was home around 2am and I was up at 4:30 again to groom. Needless to say no Birkie which was fine. The race is a big plate of stress trying to get everything done before leaving and then rushing home to get back.
Jake spent most of the weekend on the jib skates. Linda Cooper snapped a nice pic that I should try and post. Giff came late afternoon and they jibbed for almost 3 hours. No jibbing for me. I took a flyer last week when skating with the kids and I think I cracked a rib. It is going to have a hard time healing until the ski season ends. Going to get a xray tomorrow. I skied a hour this morning and it got worse as the k's went by.
Going to hockeytown USA tonight. DL plays Warroad in semifinal action. Picking up Jack and Jon at school and Jens will come as well. Should be fun. If DL wins it will be a huge upset. I think I was on one of the last DL teams to play Warroad. THey gave us the pink slip since they didn't want to waste our time with us. Man, I hope DL can pull it off. They have a great goalie and the momentum should be on their side with the win over Crookston. Warroad struggled to beat LOW so their confidence could be waning.
