So Tuesday night is bmx night but Vacation Bible School is going on this week. Jonell said Jon could go so I take him, Jake and their friends Matt and Ben. Jon has a rough night, going down on the 105 plate
rider in the first moto who threw his chain, okay on the second moto and qualified for the main. In the main, the 105 rider once again got the holeshot and Jon went high on the big berms, first and second but still was in the second spot on the home stretch. Jon punched it hard and it was wheel to wheel and Jon was just sneaking out in front on the last triple and than kaboom....he went down again. He quickly got up but rolled across fourth with some track rash on both sides and tire marks on his back. Jon gets the tough award this week as he broke his finger last week but still races. On top of that, he has hockey camp this week and he has been going great guns for 4 hours a day with that. On the way home, once we cleared town we stopped at Floyd lake (which we re named to Floyd Landis lake) and I let the kids ride in the back of the pickup. So I am enjoying the beautiful night driving through the country side and as we come near Bakke church where bible school is at, Jake just so happens to lose his hat. Not thinking too much about it, I whip a youey right in front of the church and sure enough, Jonell is in the playground with our class. The boys yell out in the back "Hi Jonell" . We pick up Jakes hat and we bolted home. I thought for sure I would be sleeping with Jib and Fly once Jonell got home since we didn't stop for the last half hour and the fact the kids were in the back but...no worries.
