The trails are getting coated with snow this morning. Might be skiable this afternoon with snow still coming down and falling temps. Sweet, don't have to rollerski today.

We have had a lot of rain the past 4-5 weeks. Above average for sure. Despite the wet conditions, riding has been pretty good, actually. Most of the single track is covered with a thick blanket of leaves making for good traction, even when it is raining. And the puddles have made for some good times for the kids.
Jake the snake.

Jens. Jonell loves these days.

Jake's friend Ethan Brekke.

Jon is always looking out for Jens and helps him get through the craziness at school and they always sit together on the 35 minute bus ride to town. Jon got sick on the bus on the way to school Friday morning. School called so I went in to pick him up. Jon had the tears coming down and asked him if okay and he said felt bad because Jens was crying. So I went up to Jen's room and Jens seemed okay but when he saw me he started to cry. He said he felt bad because Jon got sick and thought it was his fault. Jens said he didn't have a bucket for Jon and went to the front of the bus to get the wastebasket, which is against the rules and he felt bad about that. It was one of those moments you feel all knotted up in your stomach because your kids are crying but all warm and fuzzy because of the bond those two have.

The group that was here this weekend was the same group that was here during our big dump in April. This group comes twice a year and it snows or is there is snow probably 75% of the time. Interesting enough, the all day rain on Friday had the same characteristics of the late April storm. Hoping it continues through the winter!
