Racing the Border Battle two years ago. Right now this race is looking like a good race to be coming around for. We'll see. Hard to believe we were at Sea Otter last year which is happening this week/weekend. I talked to Mark Gullickson, USA Cycling Development Director, and they are not doing a short loop like they are for the Pros so the JR racers will be doing 2.5 to 3 hrs. Nuts. Just crazy. I talked about having shorter races for JRs on a whole. Too me it is a no brainer to have shorter races when you look at the EURO jrs, in particular the Swiss and the Swiss Cup, World Champs and we are way off the mark. He said some parents want longer races since they are having their kids race Nationals etc. More craziness. Good to see high school mtb racing growing because this will be a good feeder. Not our current system. Even the Series races are a bit long for JRs but with low numbers its hard to have separate classes like I tried to do last year when the series directors were part of the series planning. Anyways, ...

The yoda dog caught a mouse the other day.
Then it cut loose in the forest and pulled back a dead deer leg.
Yesterday it discovered a snapping turtle for the first time. That was good entertainment. Lily stayed with Jonell's parents when we were in Red Lodge and the time spent with Grandpa Rodney is looking like time well spent.
