Photos from the last day at West Yellowstone and heading back home. Skied a couple hours in the morning and drove straight home. Thanks to perfect roads, killer tail wind for 450 miles and no weather, made home in record time at 12.5hrs total including 40 minutes for 3 gas stops.
Walking back after the last ski. Clear skies in the morning. Last day West saw the sun as it is pounding snow now. Nice to see the mountains that surround the area, covered in fresh snow.
15 miles out, crossing the Madison River.
Snow and ice covered roads. Reminded me the first time I drove to West in the winter and pretty much the same area where I split the gap on a group of buffalo. Extremely lucky as the brakes on the Malibu classic rez rocket locked up and was pure luck I am sitting here today.
Driving along, I imagine skiing these slopes. Some time a person has to take a break from the track skiing, bring some bc/tele gear and burn some trees proper.
More appealing slopes. Wind was really cranking from the south and pulling and swirling the snow from the trees.
Wind ripping off lone peak at Big Sky.
" Crazys" in between Livingston and Billings. I never forget this section of interstate the time I went to Mt Spokane for national, driving with crazy George Hayes. His driving shift the needle was never under a 100.
What you have to do to clean the windshield when the teenager is slacking.
Badlands of eastern MT. Short and sweet trip.
Snow chances look good next 10. Ready!!
