Winter for real getting closer. The ponds and small lakes have frozen over and a dusting of snow has brightened up the woods. We skated yesterday for the first time on a pond that is at record level, making for a nice big surface which to skate upon. Ice surface is perfect. Our lake hasn't froze over. Might tonight if calm. Can't believe Big Detroit froze over Wed night. Big body of water and most bigger lakes in area still open.

This morning we shoveled off an area in the middle. Feeling good to shovel again in the cold temps and Winter fresh.
Some years this pond has dried up completely.

Fun to skate in to the woods and go into areas not possible before.
All goals scored were by Richards from Richards and Richards.
The light dusting of snow, clear skies, and full moon made for perfect moonlight riding conditions tonight. We rode the lakeside drops up to bear pass and ski trail back. Amazing how bright in some spots. The lakeside drops were crazy scary fun.
Jack in full swing with basketball. Having a fun time and a nice team.

Wow, guess there are advantages to the North... we are only a few hours south and we won't see Ice like that for at least a month, indoor league hockey only. I make a pact to not touch the bike for at least a month each year...but man I wonder when I can actually pull some skis out..its 55 degrees right now!

Good to hear from you Nathan. Pond hockey is a total treat as we don't get many days of it. Last night was the last mtb ride most likely for 3 months. Snow is dumping now.
