Lot of running last week. Not running to town and what not but actual running. Jack wrapped up cross country last week and we are running as we wait for snow and ice. The arena is putting in new boards and hopefully things work out to have ice by the end of this month and if the end of this month is like the last two Octobers, we should be skiing a few days before months end.
Jack had his last meet at Perham. The Perham course is custom built designed after the state meet course. This year they added some dirt "moguls" which were more like jumps at a dirt jump track. Jack said he was thinking of Jake when he went over the dirt piles "I bet he would like to take his bike on this". Jack ran great and had a fun time with cc this year.
Saturday we had the Pumpkin Run. A 4km loop on Lucky's Loype ski trail and a section of singletrack after the top of Suicide Hill after running up it. Bunch of pictures here. Jens and Jake ran as Jack and Jon were at a bible camp. Props to Jon and Jack being nominated for student of the month for September for their respective grades and Jon winning student of the month. Proud parents.
Carlos running with Lars Ellefeson up Suicide. Carlos was having a absolute blast. I was camped out around Suicide most of the race and he was flying through the woods picking up scent from the runners and flying all over the place. Steve Wenzel running on the singletrack. Steve definitely has the most appearances at Maplelag events hitting the Pumpkin Run, Lotvola Cup ski race and Laddies Loppet and the UCI Spring Opener race we did in 07. Steve hasn't missed many years. Jonell getting promoted to timing this year. Said couldn't of done it without corn maze training. Grousing on Sunday with Jens, Jon and Jack. Looking for the one grouse we have seen over 600 acres. Don't think we are in a up cycle but good times strolling through the woods and what not.
